Cleaning 27th September

Cleaning 27th September

It was a really nice, mild morning. This was great as it meant the wolves would be out and about, not just lying down as it was too hot.

My partner, Helen, decided she wanted to come too, which meant we all went.
Conor (age 7), Jarod (age 4.5), Helen (age ??), and Me.

When we got there we were the first, so we had a little wander. Conor really liked seeing Keenai and Kodiak from last time so we headed down to the bottom, openening the cleaning cupboard on the way.

When we got down there the wolves paid us a lot of attention, so I went over to let Kodiak sniff my fist to see who I was. He then rubbed up against the fence, so I gave him a scratch.

Duma wandering around her enclosure. They boys went into the European enclosure (supervised and NO WOLVES) to help pick up bones and clean up a bit.

Overall the cleaning took a couple of hours at a fairly relaxed pace. There is no real way to describe the peace and feeling of calm that seems to be present. Every time I go and clean out, although it is hard work, I always feel great afterwards.
