Cleaning 22nd November 2003

This was a different format of day for me to experience.
Firstly it was WET! - Only the second time I have been with the wolves when wet, but I expect there are many more of those to come over the winter. Personally I can not wait for the snow to arrive.

Another peice of superb news - I have ordered a new camera - a Canon EOS 300D aka Digital Rebel - so I hope to be able to get many excellent close up photos from now on, whilst being able to maintain a distance and capture the wolves in a natural pose.

The second thing - this was a photographic day. WildArena, had booked out the whole trust for the day. This meant a trip to the photo mound, not somewhere I had been before. Then a short walk, then back to the trust for another photo shoot, light permitting.

There is not really that much to say about the day appart from the fact that it was cold, wet and I could not go on the walk as I have not been assessed as a Euro handler yet, so I had to mind the cars. This was not a problem appart from the fact that Gerry lent me the keys to her car to keep warm and I went off with them, leaving them and the wolves stranded at the woods for an extra 20 minutes. This delayed everyone for which I do appologise.

Great learning experience though and I certainly will not be doing it again.
