UKWCT Photo Day - 12th November 2005

The first photo day that I have managed to attend in quite a while and what a good day it was.

It is also one of the first photo days that Alba has taken part in since his accident. He is still improving, but the progress is not as evident at a single glance. There are new subtleties in the way he moves. He can walk slower (this is harder than running) and his tail does not windmill as much when he walks.

It was a good day, both from the perspective of getting some nice photos, but also because we got some maintenance work done too... removing the fencing from enclosures is one goal to make them more natural.
Latea shows her dominance over Lunca   Alba can still pull
Keen to get in to the photo mound Let me at the food!
We put treats on the mound
for the wolves to find
  Dominance Submissive departure
Time to relax
      Handsome chap
Whilst the visitors went on a walk, some other volunteers and I removed some fencing from the enclosure.
This has been around some sapling trees whilst they got established,
but the Euros do not nibble trees as much as the North American girls.
After lunch Duma and Dakota came in.
    Saying hello to the photographers...
On a photo day you get very close to the wolves.
  Finally some nice shadow shots.
